Some organizations need an access control solution that works everywhere, all the time, even without a network connection. Dead zones, isolated buildings, construction sites, temporary events, contractor access, multi-site management… In these situations, traditional solutions quickly reach their limits. Akidaia offers a completely different approach: a mobile access control solution, badge-free and fully offline. Already introduced in several of our previous articles, it is explored here in a more comprehensive and operational version.
A mobile technology designed for simplicity and field operations
Akidaia is based on an extremely streamlined operating model. The administrator manages access rights remotely via a dedicated interface, users receive their credentials on their smartphones, and access is then granted via Bluetooth using a locally installed box. Everything is designed to reduce constraints: no badges to distribute, no additional hardware on the user side, and no network infrastructure to deploy. The goal is to deliver a solution that is quick to install, easy to use, and immediately adaptable to any site.
Guaranteed service continuity, even without connectivity
The core strength of Akidaia lies in its fully offline operation. Once the authorization is downloaded, the smartphone becomes autonomous. Access rights are encrypted, stored locally, and validated directly at the moment of entry. Even in the event of a network outage, lack of coverage, or temporary connectivity issues, the system continues to operate. When connectivity is restored, data is automatically synchronized with the administrative interface to ensure full traceability. This architecture removes dependency on servers at the critical moment of access, naturally enhancing security.
A modern alternative to badge-based systems
Badges remain relevant in many environments, but they come with constraints: loss, forgetfulness, duplication, logistical management, and additional costs. By eliminating physical credentials, Akidaia significantly simplifies operations. The smartphone replaces the badge, immediately reducing everyday issues and streamlining access management. For multi-site organizations or structures that regularly host external contractors, this represents a clear gain in efficiency and reliability.
A solution built to address real-world field constraints
Akidaia’s key advantage lies in its ability to adapt to contexts where traditional solutions become difficult—or even impossible—to deploy. Isolated sites, technical rooms without network access, short-term events, dispersed buildings, evolving construction sites, or mobile teams: the solution provides the flexibility needed to maintain controlled and secure access, even under non-ideal conditions.
Biotime Biometrics, Akidaia partner and provider
As a specialist in secure access control, Biotime Biometrics integrates the Akidaia solution into its professional portfolio. Our role is to support companies in selecting the solution best suited to their constraints, supply the required equipment, provide technical support, and facilitate integration with existing partners. The objective is simple: ensure efficient deployment, smooth day-to-day use, and complete service continuity, regardless of on-site realities.
