Article 31 : IDEMIA participe au programme d’identité numérique national

After deploying more than 135 identification programs around the world, IDEMIA has been given a new mission: to design an application for smartphones allowing French people to prove who they are.

For the National Agency for Secure Titles (ANTS), automating this process is becoming a government emergency. As operations gradually become digital, it is necessary to be able to verify visitor profiles with certainty. To do this, the state entity has set up the Digital Identity Guarantee Service (SGIN).

The SGIN: towards 100% automatic identification

It was last year that ANTS announced the launch of the SGIN. From the outset, the organization’s goal was clear: to simplify, secure and speed up online identification.

In order to accomplish this feat, the SGIN will rely on the information contained in the chips of the National Digital Identity Cards (CNI-e). Introduced in 2021, these new identification documents have already been adopted by 4.5 million French people.

Unlike earlier versions, CNI-e encrypts data in their framework. It is by reading these that the application developed by IDEMIA allows citizens to prove who they are.

The SGIN: an application that reads CNI-e

Acting as an extension of the CNI-e, the application developed facilitates access to public and private services. For the Internet user, the procedure is broken down into three stages:

  • go to the URL indicated for identification (or transaction);
  • place the CNI-e on the back of your smartphone;
  • confirm personal information by inserting a PIN code.

In a few seconds, the data inserted into the CNI-e is read and access to services is granted. Note that biometric data will never be transmitted to a third party, they will remain secure in the CNI-e.

With this application, the ANTS puts biometrics at the service of French users. Logging in has never been easier.

Article 30 : IDEMIA étend sa présence à l’Aéroport de Singapour-Changi avec sa technologie multi-biométrique

IDEMIA‘s biometric solutions facilitate the experience of millions of passengers at Singapore Changi Airport. As borders reopen and international travel restarts, the company is expanding its solutions to two new Terminals and continues to offer more fluidity and security to passengers.

An improvement to the current system

IDEMIA first launched its biometric access system in Terminal 4 at Singapore Changi Airport in 2017. In March 2022, the world leader in identity technologies extended its biometric solutions to the Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The company is thus continuing its long-standing partnership with Singapore.

The new deployments are based on an improvement of the current system, with the integration of the TraveLane 2 Steps solution with ID-Look. Combined with immediate identity verification, the biometric solution allows for faster immigration control. The system also facilitates family travel with the integration of a reserved lane: automatic doors allow the passage of a group of four passengers.

A smoother and safer experience

IDEMIA’s solutions, combining state-of-the-art biometric technology with facial and fingerprint recognition, have helped increase passenger numbers without compromising security. Indeed, multi-biometric technology combines the capture of biometric data with the automated immigration control process. The move is part of Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) New Clearance Concept (NCC), which aims to make automated customs clearance the norm for all travelers in the country by 2023.

Thanks to its expertise in biometrics, the world leader in identity technologies is supporting Singapore-Changi Airport towards a digital-centric, smoother and more secure journey for local and international passengers.

Article 29 : Le Royaume du Maroc lance une plateforme nationale d’identité numérique avec IDEMIA

In December 2020, the French leader IDEMIA signed a 6.1 million euros contract with the Moroccan State to provide the biometric solution for the national population register.

This new platform allows Moroccans to access online services in a secure environment. Indeed, this new biometric identity card is an additional step towards the deployment of online services in Morocco.

Online and secure authentication

Set up by the DGSN (General Directorate of National Security) of the Kingdom of Morocco, this new digital authentication platform allows Moroccans to authenticate directly online in a fast and very secure way. IDEMIA, world leader in Augmented Identity, offers solutions respecting the highest level of security.

The development of the digital economy

The deployment of this new biometrics contributes significantly to the growth of the digital economy. It is able to ensure the security of authentications and online transactions of citizens. All online services could thus benefit from the national digital identity system proposed by the DGSN. This system guarantees citizens easy, quick access and security to their personal data stored exclusively on this card.

This has been strategically positioned as the main authentication factor for remote access by citizens. It incorporates top-notch security features and provides citizens and service providers with the highest level of confidence possible.

Article 25 : IDEMIA va doter le Chili de pièces d'identité nouvelle génération pour les 10 prochaines années

Some of the most secure IDs and passports in the world will soon be in Chile. The country has just awarded IDEMIA the contract to supply and modernize its legal documents for the next ten years. With the integration of the latest biometric and cryptographic technologies, Chileans will have unique, tamper-proof and totally secure documents. Another novelty: the creation of a digital title for each citizen.

New generation identity documents and passports

The new Chilean civil status and travel documents will incorporate the latest technological developments in the field of biometrics. To fingerprints and facial recognition will be added iris recognition. The combination of these three identification systems will raise the level of security to the highest standards on the market.

This performance is made possible thanks to recent developments in the automated biometric identification system developed by IDEMIA, known as the “Biometric Recognition System” (IBRS). This guarantees that each citizen has a legal, unique and secure civil status document, valid throughout life.

Another feature of these future cards and passports: visually impaired people will be able to use them thanks to an application that uses voice assistance to reproduce the data. They will have documents with their initials in Braille.

A digital identity for every citizen

The signed contract also includes a digital title. The goal? Enable all Chilean citizens to have secure access to online services from the public and private sectors (telemedicine services, transport reservations).

Chileans will also be able to securely communicate certain identity attributes for verification purposes on the Internet.

With this new contract, IDEMIA continues to support Chile in its digital transformation. A great way to celebrate 30 years of a solid and trusting partnership.

Article 23 : Technologies de l'identité : Idemia partenaire de la Californie

IDEMIA, the world’s leading identity company, announced on March 8, 2022 that it had signed a contract with the State of California. The terms of this contract cover the provision of conventional driving licenses, as well as digital technologies to modernize the vehicle management department (VMD).

A partnership extended to driving licenses

The collaboration between these two entities is not new: IDEMIA has already been supplying physical identification documents and technological means to California for more than 64 years.

As part of this new contract, scheduled for 12 years, the identity leader will offer a new design for driving licenses, including enhanced security features that improve the user experience and limit fraud. The French company will also provide mobile tablets to reach residents living in isolated areas of the state. The new tools thus developed will be compatible with the “Cloud First” policy advocated in the United States since 2013.

Biometric technology at the service of users

Donnie Scott, General Manager of the company in North America, is delighted to be able to collaborate with an innovative and future-oriented state. Together, they will continue to develop new services for residents.

Like the State of California, every company can use biometrics to improve the security and development of its services.
