Description

The HID ATOM 3K is a high-resolution, full-page ID document reader designed for environments where accuracy, auditability and operational confidence are critical. It supports both physical identity documents and mobile mDL and mDoc credentials aligned with ISO 18013-5.

Its 800 DPI multispectral imaging combines visible, infrared and ultraviolet light with coaxial illumination. This technology reveals concealed security features, highlights signs of tampering and improves hologram clarity for more consistent document inspection.

ATOM 3K automates data extraction through enhanced OCR technology. It reads MRZ data from ICAO 9303-compliant travel documents, ISO 18013 driving licences, 1D and 2D barcodes, and contactless RFID chips in electronic documents.

Its compact footprint supports desktop use as well as integration into self-service kiosks and eGates. The IK08 impact-rated scanning window, USB connectivity and user-friendly operation simplify deployment for border control, law enforcement, banking, insurance, and ID document or visa issuance.
