IDEMIA‘s biometric solutions facilitate the experience of millions of passengers at Singapore Changi Airport. As borders reopen and international travel restarts, the company is expanding its solutions to two new Terminals and continues to offer more fluidity and security to passengers.
An improvement to the current system
IDEMIA first launched its biometric access system in Terminal 4 at Singapore Changi Airport in 2017. In March 2022, the world leader in identity technologies extended its biometric solutions to the Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The company is thus continuing its long-standing partnership with Singapore.
The new deployments are based on an improvement of the current system, with the integration of the TraveLane 2 Steps solution with ID-Look. Combined with immediate identity verification, the biometric solution allows for faster immigration control. The system also facilitates family travel with the integration of a reserved lane: automatic doors allow the passage of a group of four passengers.
A smoother and safer experience
IDEMIA’s solutions, combining state-of-the-art biometric technology with facial and fingerprint recognition, have helped increase passenger numbers without compromising security. Indeed, multi-biometric technology combines the capture of biometric data with the automated immigration control process. The move is part of Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) New Clearance Concept (NCC), which aims to make automated customs clearance the norm for all travelers in the country by 2023.
Thanks to its expertise in biometrics, the world leader in identity technologies is supporting Singapore-Changi Airport towards a digital-centric, smoother and more secure journey for local and international passengers.
