Idemia and TCC join forces for digital identity and smart cities in Saudi Arabia
Idemia Public Security and Technology Control Company have just signed a strategic memorandum of understanding. This partnership aims to accelerate the development of solutions in the fields of digital identity, biometrics and smart cities in Saudi Arabia, with strong alignment to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
A partnership serving regional innovation
By partnering with TCC, a recognized player in digital technologies in Saudi Arabia, Idemia strengthens its presence in the Gulf. Together, the two companies intend to address the challenges of security, fluidity and efficiency in the sectors of travel, transportation and urban services. The signed agreement expands their existing collaboration and rests on four major pillars: border controls, smart-city infrastructures, local skills transfer, and the promotion of strategic initiatives in both the public and private sectors.
Four priorities at the heart of the agreement
The first pillar involves the deployment of biometric technologies and artificial intelligence to secure and optimize border controls on land, at sea and in airports. The objective: strengthen security while improving the passenger experience. The second pillar concerns smart-city projects. The solutions to be developed aim to streamline services for citizens and increase urban safety through data analysis and biometrics. Third, Idemia and TCC commit to training local talent in biometric technologies. Training programs and knowledge-transfer initiatives will be put in place to achieve this. Finally, the two companies wish to actively promote innovative projects in the fields of travel, transportation and urban development—serving as a lever to strengthen the region’s technological impact.
A shared ambition for Vision 2030
This protocol is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader digital transformation drive. By combining their respective expertise, Idemia and TCC will help implement modern, connected and secure infrastructures that serve both citizens and international travelers. Idemia—already present on more than 4,000 sites worldwide—will leverage its experience in access control, biometric identification and flow management. With nearly one billion passengers processed each year by its systems, the group plays a central role in security innovation on a global scale.
