MorphoWave™ XP2: next-generation contactless biometric access control
The MorphoWave™ XP2 builds on the proven MorphoWave range from IDEMIA while introducing significant improvements in integration, performance and user experience. Designed for demanding professional environments, this contactless biometric reader identifies users with a simple wave of the hand, without requiring them to place their fingers on a sensor.
Proven MorphoWave technology in a more modern version
The strength of the MorphoWave™ XP2 lies in its contactless 3D fingerprint capture technology. In less than one second, the reader analyses four fingers as the user moves their hand through the scanning area. Users remain in motion, without any physical contact with the terminal, making the solution easy to adopt in everyday use.
This approach is particularly well suited to sites with frequent traffic, including corporate headquarters, commercial buildings, secure areas, laboratories, industrial facilities, government buildings and other sensitive environments. With a throughput of up to 50 people per minute, access points can be secured without creating delays at entrances.
Like the other readers in the MorphoWave range, the XP2 retains the key benefits of contactless biometrics: speed, hygiene, ease of use and fewer recognition issues associated with wet, dry or damaged fingers.
How does it differ from other MorphoWave readers?
The MorphoWave™ XP2 does not replace the core principles of the range. Instead, it enhances them in a more compact and versatile format that is better suited to today’s access control projects.
Compared with previous generations, the XP2 stands out through its more modern housing, 4.3-inch colour touchscreen, architecture designed for seamless on-site integration and compatibility with a wide range of authentication scenarios. It can operate using biometrics, as well as RFID cards, Android or iOS mobile credentials, PIN codes and printed QR codes, depending on the configuration.
Another important advantage is that its design makes it easier to replace or upgrade an existing installed base, particularly thanks to its continuity with the MorphoWave SP and MorphoWave XP form factors. For organisations already using MorphoWave solutions, this can simplify modernisation projects without requiring them to start again from scratch.
A solution designed for high-traffic sites and sensitive access points
The MorphoWave™ XP2 has been designed for intensive professional use. With the appropriate licence, it can manage up to 100,000 biometric users, 250,000 authorised credentials and up to 1 million event logs. Its IP65 protection rating and PoE+ power supply make it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation, depending on site requirements.
It can also be integrated with a wide variety of access control systems through several interfaces, including Ethernet, RS485, USB, Wiegand and OSDP. The reader can be installed on a door, turnstile or speed gate, and can be combined with accessories such as a mounting pedestal or protective hood to suit the environment.
For companies and organisations looking for a fast, reliable and contactless biometric solution, the MorphoWave™ XP2 represents a natural evolution of the MorphoWave range. It combines security, smooth user flow and flexible integration in a format designed to meet today’s access control requirements.
